1. Use lighting in a non-traditional way

– How pendants will transform your space

Instead of going for the obvious table lamp on top of your desk or bedside table, prefer pendants to maximize your space and get a more design and professional look.

2. Think about lighting at an early stage of your house construction or renovation

– Close you eyes and project yourself

Don’t be limited to the main general points your engineer will initially plan for each room. Thinking about lighting as early as planning the ventilation system is best to create the lighting design you want.

3. Enhance empty walls with lighting to create design shapes and shadows

– When lighting turns into a piece of art

Sometimes having too many pictures on walls can make it too repetitive. Use some of your empty walls with decorative lights. This is another way to make your home more unique.

4. When using downlights/spotlights, choose narrow beam angles for a dramatic effect

– Enhance your home’s personality

Such angle will obviously not cover the entire space, but you can choose where to put the accent on : center of the space, furniture, stairs, structure, etc.

5. Choose the right light temperature according to spaces

– For a total different atmosphere

Favor warm sources for relaxing spaces such as living room, bedroom or lounges, for a soothing ambiance. Favor colder sources wherever you need to see properly and distinguish colors, in order to avoid giving your eyes too much work, such as in the kitchen, library, or office.
