Francesco Librizzi, a young Sicilian architect based in Milan, has designed a new family of lighting fixtures for FontanaArte. “Setareh” was inspired by the idea of giving light form. A sphere is suspended within a thin metal structure to create the lamp. Circular masses and trajectories create a balanced design of gravitational dynamics. The light from the sphere illuminates the surrounding space, illuminating the frame. reflec Reflections on metal make visible the luminous field, the space influenced by light. The result is a collection of lighting elements in tabletop and suspension versions of exceptional poetic grace. Setareh takes on new dimensions: elongated, with two or three spherical elements that can work independently or in concert. It is meant for the illumination of large spaces with double-height ceilings or ample enough to accommodate expansive compositions with multiple elements. Setareh means ‘star’ in ancient Farsi
