The partnership between American design company Jumbo and Petite Friture resulted in the creation of the Neotenic line of table lights. Neotenic exhibits large, organic lines and is inspired by soothing childhood aesthetics. The base of the lamp resembles a corkscrew-shaped cavatappi noodle. The colours that the lamp is offered in perfectly match the chromatic aesthetic of Petite Friture and evoke a stylized representation of an aubergine and tomato sauce.
In addition to its striking, sculptural appearance, the Neotenic table lamp is technique-driven. It creates light that is aesthetically pleasing, uniform, and potent all at once. The lamp’s stand is made by Portuguese ceramicists, and because to its curvature, it has to be meticulously finished by hand and dried using counter-gravity.
