The body of the exquisitely designed Neotenic table lamp is handcrafted in Portugal, and it takes a complicated mould to achieve its recognizable circular curves. The large lamp, in particular, needs a six-part mould, meticulous manual finishing touches on the ceramic before firing, a counter-gravitational dying process, and either a shiny and smooth or a matt and powdered paint finish applied in one single bold gesture to obtain the finished product.
A masterful display of handmade craftsmanship and technique, the huge Neotenic table lamp defies the rules of physics.
