Fil de Fer is a lighting fixture made from shaped, woven aluminum wires, which are lit on the inside with tiny bulbs. Designed and made by Enzo Catellani, it is his most cherished creation. He developed it almost twenty years ago for a special commission, but it was never used, and it was hung in his workshop. As soon as it was switched on, it enchanted everyone with its magical atmosphere. Catellani then decided to continue working on it.
After the lamp was introduced to the market, it quickly became the most iconic lighting fixture in the Catellani & Smith range.
