Vico Magistretti created Atollo in 1977, and since then it has evolved into the standard for table lamps, winning the Compasso d’Oro in 1979 and entirely altering how we think of the traditional bedside lamp. The cylinder, cone, and hemisphere geometric shapes that make up this product have produced a piece that is both ornamental and functional at the same time, detached from historical context and current fashions, and one that has now firmly established itself as a symbol of Italian design. Atollo is offered in three different sizes and three distinct finishes, including blown glass and opaline opaque metal.
