Description
The Mantis floor lamp has been physically modified and enhanced in line with Schottlander’s original design, and features a wired silhouette that naturally resembles a praying mantis floating in space. The BS8 L floor lamp has a new base and arm, replacing its old system of rack and counterweight with an imaginative “squaring of the circle” with suggestive designs and voids. The lamp still consists of a long steel rod topped by a black shade swinging on a ball joint, resting on its round base.
The Mantis BS8 lamp, a genuine sculpture that can now be adjusted by a dial and has a wide range of uses, returns to Bernard what belonged to Schottlander.
