Secto Design’s Kontro 6000 Pendant Light offers an inviting aura of light filtered through a dazzling birch wood construction. Kontro emerges from Seppo Koho’s sketchbook, a designer who appreciates prototyping by hand with wood. Through a refined design that conceals the light source, the Finnish designer follows Scandinavian tradition. Seppo Koho uses birch wood native to his country to create a construction that’s both relaxing and durable. Finnish craftsmen cross fine birch wood slats to create an airy geometric form. Luminaires hidden in the center enhance the golden hue of the wood with a warm, brilliant light. Through the linear openings, light creates a dramatic silhouette of rays.
